Gene-Eden-VIR is a natural treatment designed to boost the immune system against the latent Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV), the virus that causes shingles. VZV is known by many names, including chickenpox virus, varicella virus, herpes zoster virus, and human herpesvirus type 3 (HHV-3). A post marketing clinical study showed that Gene-Eden-VIR decreased symptoms of infections with several herpes viruses. A second post marketing clinical study showed that Gene-Eden-VIR decreased the feeling of physical and mental fatigue associated with such infection. Both studies followed the FDA guidelines for clinical studies.

Both clinical studies were published in medical journal Pharmacology and Pharmacy. The first clinical study was published in the special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs.

The first study concluded: “… the clinical study showed that Gene-Eden-VIR is a safe and effective treatment against
(herpes viruses and other viruses). Therefore, health care practitioners should recommend Gene-Eden-VIR as a safe and effective antiviral treatment against
these viruses.”

These studies provide a scientific proof that Gene-Eden-VIR actually works. To quote from the first study, “this study showed that
the natural product Gene-Eden-VIR safely and effectively decreases symptoms in individuals infected with (herpes viruses and other viruses).” Although both studies are written in a language suitable for scientists, you can read them or their abstracts on the home page.

The following information provides answers to common questions about shingles, and the VZV virus.

Is there a treatment that targets the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV)?

Yes there is. Gene-Eden-VIR is a natural remedy designed to help the immune system target latent herpes viruses, including the VZV.

A recent clinical study tested the effect of Gene-Eden-VIR on viral infections, including an infection with herpes viruses. VZV is a member of the herpes family of viruses. The study showed that treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR decreased the symptoms in infected individuals, including symptoms such as abnormal Pap smear, low and high grade cervical dysplasia, warts, blisters, cold sores, hives, skin tabs, panic attacks, depression, kidney problems, sleeping problems, liver problems, fever, fatigue, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea, and weight loss. Specifically, Gene-Eden-VIR decreased the severity, frequency, and duration of these symptoms. Gene-Eden-VIR is unique since it helps the immune system target latent viruses like VZV.

There is also a shingles vaccine (Zostavax). The vaccine may reduce the risk of developing a shingles outbreak, and decrease the long-term pain from post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). In adults vaccinated at age 60 years or older, protection from the vaccine decreases within the first 5 years after vaccination. Protection beyond 5 years is uncertain; therefore, adults receiving the vaccine before age 60 years might not be protected when their risks for shingles and its complications are greatest. There are also medications against the Varicella Zoster Virus. Several antiviral medicines – acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovir – are available to treat shingles. These medicines may help shorten the length and severity of the illness. But to be effective, they must be started as soon as possible after the rash appears. Thus, people who have or think they might have shingles should call their healthcare provider as soon as possible to discuss treatment options.

Analgesics (pain medicine) may help relieve the pain caused by shingles. Wet compresses, calamine lotion, and colloidal oatmeal baths may help relieve some of the itching.

However, these medications, when effective, only work to shorten the time of the shingles outbreak. They are ineffective against the latent VZV virus. They are only effective against the symptoms.

What are the costs of these treatments?

According to costhelper.com, the cost of a shingles vaccination, when not covered by insurance “typically includes: a shot administration fee and the cost of the single required dose of vaccine and in some cases (if your own doctor does not offer the shingles vaccination and you are unable to get it during a routine doctor visit) a doctor visit or consultation fee, for a total of about $200 to $250. For example, The Shot Nurse, a mobile vaccination service in Tennessee, charges $205. Walgreens’ Take Care Clinics charge about $220.”

In terms of antiviral drugs against the shingles virus, goodrx.com says that a prescription for Zovirax, one of the most common anti-shingles medications is $553.63 at the CVS Pharmacy. A month’s supply of Valtrex (90 pills), another common anti-shingles medication, is $1,275.00 for the brand name at the CVS Pharmacy. The cost of the generic brand is only slightly less.

A month’s supply of Gene-Eden-VIR is $42.99. That’s well over $500 cheaper than Zovirax, and well over $1,000 cheaper than Valtrex.

How did I get shingles?

Shingles is a condition caused by the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus (VZV) from a latent state. If you had chickenpox, the virus that causes chickenpox, the varicella zoster virus (VZV) stays in your body in a latent state. Reactivation is caused by a decline in the efficiency of your immune system.

If you never had chickenpox, you might have been infected with the varicella zoster virus (VZV) from a person who has shingles. The virus is spread through direct contact with fluid from the rash blisters caused by shingles. In such a case, you might develop chickenpox, and later shingles.

A person with active shingles can spread the virus when the rash is in the blister-phase. A person is not infectious before the blisters appear. Once the rash has developed crusts, the person is no longer contagious.

How do I keep other people from becoming infected?

If you have shingles:

Keep the rash covered, avoid touching or scratching the rash, and wash your hands often to prevent the spread of the varicella zoster virus (VZV).

Until your rash has developed crusts, avoid contact with pregnant women who have never had chickenpox, or the chickenpox vaccine, premature or low birth weight infants, and
people with weakened immune systems, such as people receiving immunosuppressive medications or undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, and people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

Will I have shingles pain forever?

The most common complication of shingles is a condition called post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). People with PHN have severe pain in the areas where they had the shingles rash, even after the rash clears up. The pain from PHN may be severe and debilitating, but it usually resolves in a few weeks or months in most patients. However, some people can have pain from PHN for many years.

As people get older, they are more likely to develop PHN, and the pain is more likely to be severe. PHN occurs rarely among people under 40 years of age, but can occur in up to a third of untreated people who are 60 years of age and older.

Can shingles kill me?

The short answer is … maybe.

Research shows that shingles may lead to serious complications involving the eye. Very rarely, shingles can also lead to pneumonia, hearing problems, blindness, brain inflammation (encephalitis) or death. Dr. Hanan Polansky’s shows in his book “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” how the DNA of latent viruses like VZV can cause many major diseases.

Can my VZV Infection be cured?

Gene-Eden-VIR is a natural herpes remedy that helps the immune system target the latent herpes virus, reducing the concentration of this virus in the infected individual.

How can I boost my immune system against the shingles virus (VZV)

Take Gene-Eden-VIR.

A clinical study proved that Gene-Eden-VIR decreases the frequency, duration, and severity of symptoms associated with herpes viruses. The clinical study was conducted by scientists at the Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD).
